# Jaeyong Bae — Design Engineer / Product Designer > Design Engineer based in Seoul. I design, build, and ship digital products. I'm a design engineer based in Seoul. I work from UX and design systems through frontend, data and AI, and I stay with the product after launch to learn from how it actually gets used. Based in Seoul, Korea. Contact: jaeyongbae11@gmail.com. Updated 2026-10-09. ## Everything, in one file - [The whole site as text](https://jaeyongbae.com/llms-full.txt): every project, experiment and document, in English and Korean. ## Pages - [Home](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/): I design, build, and ship digital products. - [Work](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/): Every project, newest work first, then the archive. - [Experiments](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/experiments/): The questions that keep coming back across projects. - [About](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/about/): The record: experience, education, skills, and the one-page CV. ## Projects - [Reevl](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/reevl/): A real estate intelligence platform I designed, built, launched, and operate alone. - [SAI](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/sai/): An AI colleague that does the work a meeting needs before anyone asks – it transcribes the room live, reads the context, and researches, compares and calculates, so people can keep talking and pick what to keep. In a team of three I did the UX, the design system and the frontend. - [Feasix AI](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/feasix-ai/): An industry–academia study designing the remote-control screen for an underground-parking patrol robot – 20 screens, 30 components and 220 design tokens in one system. - [Glide](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/glide/): A motion-sickness relief system for autonomous cars that warns riders 2–7 seconds before the car moves so their bodies can brace – with one sickness metric implemented identically on a sensor board, a web console and an iOS app. - [Kankan](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/kankan/): When every route app shows the fastest way, Kankan shows the car where you can sit. A Toss mini-app I planned, designed, built, got through review and run on my own. - [GLIO](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/glio-works/): An AI publishing-production tool that turns one manuscript into Korean-typeset print PDF, EPUB3, large print, accessible PDF and braille – with its own Korean typesetting engine, a macOS app and an MCP server, built solo. - [Commit](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/commit/): A mobile-first web app that gathers scattered government startup grants into one feed, with an anonymous builder community on top – built and shipped solo in 28 days, leaving the grant amount blank wherever the data could not support it. - [FLATTEN](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/flatten/): An index for browsing Korean universities' design graduation shows across schools – the first step toward a record that links person, project, programme, institution and year. - [Gatherly](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/gatherly/): An industry–academia project with Samsung Electronics' home appliance division. It holds the partner's material, so the work is not published here. Material is available on request. - [Distance of Thinking](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/distance-of-thinking/): An interactive installation where visitors fly through a language model's real next-token probability field, and the path they fly becomes the model's answer. - [NUN](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/nun/): A seat that levels the eyes of the people on it – no motors, just the sitter's weight folding an origami structure, carried from a park bench to an autonomous cabin. - [KTX Passenger Information Display](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/ktx/): The screens in a KTX carriage, restructured around the passenger's journey rather than the system's functions. - [HarikomiMaker](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/harikomi-maker/): A macOS app that imposes a PDF for saddle stitching, draws the crop and fold marks and exports a print-ready file. It never scales the original – if it doesn't fit, it says so. - [Synthetic Vision Fund](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/synthetic-vision-fund/): A fictional AI investment platform. By mimicking the familiar motions – reading an article, pressing invest, checking out, receiving a confirmation – it shows how interfaces and terminology manufacture belief. - [Glide Console](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/glide-saas/): Glide's sickness metric, put on a map: a Glide Score for all 25 Seoul districts, the rides running right now and the events as they land – one screen, also used to replay scenarios Wizard-of-Oz style. - [Reevl: ON THE WAY](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/pleos/): A study of whether Reevl could ship on Hyundai's Pleos. The constraint came first, and the scope narrowed instead of the screen. - [Close to Miracles](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/hudson/): The cockpit voice recorder transcript of US Airways Flight 1549 (2009), set as a 32-page booklet and a 614×861mm poster. Timecodes become folios; channels become columns. - [Hi, High!](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/airforce-onboarding/): Hi, High! is an onboarding kit built around cheering new Air Force recruits on toward higher places. The aim was to move away from the usual image of a military institution, create one consistent brand experience, and strengthen members' sense of identity. - [Thank You, Our Dokkaebi](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/airforce-dokkaebi/): The F-4 Phantom served 55 years guarding Korean airspace before retiring with honours. The goods made to mark it were given out at the media day, the retirement ceremony and other events – in a friendly, childlike style so every generation could remember it together. - [Comma Project](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/comma-project/): “Stop Doing, notice Being.” The project names the everyday habit of living as if chased by something “Doing” and invites people to pause it. The goal was time spent clearing the mind and focusing only on oneself – Being – which we defined as rest in its essential form. We brought neglected corners of the campus back as places to rest, and made a website that guides people to them. - [Focus On Them](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/focus-on-them/): Focus On Them sets out to undo public prejudice and misunderstanding about blind and low-vision people, and to build an attitude of understanding toward the field. - [Experimental Typography](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/experimental-typography/): A typography essay, visual poems and a visual novel made as coursework – held together by one tone and manner, and shown in sequence. - [Intellectual Capital](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/intellectual-capital/): Intellectual Capital is Muneaki Masuda's book on his philosophy of business. I redesigned it in a manner and language that fit the ideas running through it – creating customer value, proposing a lifestyle, and the design that makes a proposal convincing. - [The Unseen](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/the-unseen/): Two posters in a series that connect vertically. Starting from the root of the Korean word for instinct – “to prick and provoke a reaction” – they visualise how instinct works in the human body. - [Contact; Again](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/work/kart-film-festival/): Design for the graduation film festival that the K-Arts film department holds every year. The trailer read the festival's pandemic-era slogan, “Contact; Again”, through fishing – so the design carried the same idea, with fishing and fish as its motifs. ## Experiments - [Design judgment](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/experiments/ai-design-critique/): Six decisions from shipped work where something looked fine and failed in use – what the evidence was, what changed, and what it cost. - [Vision-based interfaces](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/experiments/vision-interface/): Input from the body rather than the click – what a head tilt, a gaze and a hand can each carry, tested inside real work. - [MPU6050 motion study](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/experiments/mpu6050-motion/): Measuring motion sickness as a number with one accelerometer, then turning that number into a buzz the body reads before the eyes do. Glide's hardware came out of this. - [Generative UI](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/experiments/generative-ui/): When a model assembles the screen at runtime, what to hand it and what to keep. - [Three.js interaction](https://jaeyongbae.com/en/experiments/threejs-interaction/): Using three dimensions in a browser as something to read rather than something to look at – tested inside an installation that flies through a probability field. ## Documents - [CV (PDF, one page)](https://jaeyongbae.com/documents/en/bae-jaeyong-cv.pdf?v=1791527226) - [CV in Korean (PDF, one page)](https://jaeyongbae.com/documents/ko/bae-jaeyong-cv.pdf?v=1791527225) - A résumé written for a specific role, and a cover letter, are sent on request. ## Korean - [한국어판](https://jaeyongbae.com/ko/): the same site, written in Korean, not translated from it.
